Learner of the Month October - Brownyn Stapleford

Congratulations to Bronwyn Stapleford from Ronald Masters.

'Bronwyn is a very eager and passionate Apprentice. Bronwyn is consistently on target and has also attended Krowns on her day off to catch up with her key skill work. Bronwyn always gets 1s on her off the job training reports, her manager is always impressed with her and she is a pleasure to teach. Well Done Bronwyn!.

HAIR-O-WEEN 2011 - NVQ Level 2 Hair Show.

Well done to all the learners who took part in the NVQ Level 2 Hair show on Tuesday 25th October 2011. The standard was fantatstic and it was a great fun evening had by all - a real celebration of the learners achievement and skills.

Thank you to all the learners and their models who took part and also the salons, friends and family who attended in support of them.

Wear It Pink for Breast Cancer

Thank you and well done to everyone who took part in the 'Wear It Pink' Campaign for breast cancer from the 10th - 21st October.

11 NHTA Learners and 10 NHTA staff donated money to Breast Cancer over a two week period.

Anna Booth was the lucky learner who won the raffle to win a pair of pink Ice Diamond Straightners. Well Done!

Salon International and Alternative Hair Show Trip

8 Learners and 3 NHTA staff went on the Salon International and Alternative Hair Show trip to London on 16th and 17th October.
On the first evening we arrived at our London hotel and were whisked off to the Royal Albert Hall to watch the Alternative Hair Show. The Alternative Hair Show is where teams compete in Avant Garde hair to win the title of winners. Teams arrive in London from all over the world so the standard was exceptional. We all spent the evening completely amazed and inspired by the standard of work - so much so one of the learners who attended decided to change the look she was planning for the NVQ level 2 hair show coming in the next couple of weeks based on what she saw.
After a good nights sleep, dreaming of the avante garde hair we had seen the previous evening we were transported to Salon International - a hairdressing exhibition. We spent the day at the exhibition looking at all the new trends and products such as feather extensions and also a new diffuser based applicator for a hairdryer that barrel curls hair!

A fantastic trip had by all - I for one will definately be going next year!

Access to Apprenticeships - A wage free Apprentice for up to 6 months!

The goverment have announced a new scheme called Access to Apprenticeships whereby you can have an apprentice working with you in the salon without the wage implication from a period of 3-6months with the opportunity of full time employment after this period.

NHTA Apprentice Artisitc Team

NHTA are now auditioning for the NHTA Apprentice Artistic Team.

We are looking for 12 rising stars that are currently training with NHTA for their NVQ Level 2 and NVQ Level 3 qualification. The NHTA Apprentice Artistic Team will get the chance to work with NHTA's Artistic Team to hone their skills, take part in external demonstrations, enter competitions and also get to add the title to their CV.

Members of the NHTA's Apprentice Artistic Team will have to be a confident, dynamic and improving skills with long hair.

Auditions will be held on 3rd Ocotber 6:00pm at Krowns. Contact your tutor to get an application form.

NHTA is attending a Careers Fair near you!

NHTA are Attending 'What's Next' Careers and Opportunities Fair at Harvey Hadden in Nottingham on October 4th and 5th.
